- The attached file contains two resource types: "snd " and "snth".
- These will only work on a Macintosh SE with system software
- release 6.0 or later (Finder 6.1 or later). These resources
- were created for two reasons:
- 1) Apple did not provide a mechanism to get back to the old beep.
- 2) My SuperMac SpeedCard™ has a compatibility problem with
- the new Sound manager in system 6.0. The beep sounds are
- fuzzy and/or distorted.
-
- The "snd " resources represent the "old" style macintosh error
- beep in varying durations.
-
- The "snth" resource is the old style sound producing code.
-
- Install both resource types with ResEdit in your System file.
- Repeating, this will only work on an SE with system 6.0 or later.
